Room and setup

What ceiling height do I need?

9 ft is the minimum we sell into for a full swing, and 10 ft is recommended. The rule of thumb is your height plus the length of your driver at the top of the backswing; a 6 ft golfer with a 45-inch driver and an upright swing can reach 9.5 ft. Measure the lowest point over the hitting area, including lights, ducts and garage door tracks.

The Apex Enclosure 10x10 has a 9 ft and a 10 ft height setting. The Apex Enclosure Pro 12x10 and the Trackman iO Room need a 10 ft ceiling. Below 9 ft, consider a putting and chipping setup rather than a full-swing simulator.

How much depth and width does a simulator need?

For a full swing into an impact screen plan on 15 ft from the screen wall to the wall behind you, and 10 ft of width (12 ft for the Pro enclosure). That allows about 5 ft of enclosure depth, 8-10 ft from the screen to the ball, and room for the backswing.

Radar launch monitors sit behind the ball and need extra depth: about 7-8 ft for the Mevo Gen2 and Rapsodo MLM2PRO, 8-10 ft for the Full Swing KIT. Camera units (SkyTrak ST MAX, Uneekor, Garmin R50, Foresight GC3) sit beside the ball and need nothing behind you. The builder applies these rules automatically.

Does it work for both left- and right-handed golfers?

Yes. The Apex Hitting Mat 5x5 is symmetrical, and side-of-ball launch monitors (SkyTrak, Uneekor, Garmin, Foresight) are moved to the other side of the mat for a left-hander; some, like the EYE MINI LITE, can switch in software. Radar units behind the ball do not need to move. A ceiling-mounted Trackman iO handles both without any change.

How does projector throw work, and where does the projector mount?

Short-throw projectors such as the Optoma ZW350ST and BenQ AH500ST have a throw ratio of about 0.5:1, so a 10 ft wide image needs the lens about 5 ft from the screen. That puts the projector on the ceiling inside the enclosure, ahead of the golfer and out of the ball's path. Our packages include the ceiling mount and a 25 ft HDMI cable. We confirm the exact mounting point in the room check.

Software and computers

Which simulation software can I run, and what does it cost?

It depends on the launch monitor. Common options in 2026: GSPro ($250/yr, Windows PC, works with SkyTrak, Mevo, Uneekor, Foresight, Full Swing KIT and more), E6 Connect ($300/yr Basic, $600/yr Expanded; iOS and PC), TGC 2019 ($499 one time, simulator version), Awesome Golf ($159.99/yr or $349.99 lifetime). Foresight includes FSX Play with the GC3; Garmin's R50 runs Home Tee Hero on the device with a $99.99/yr membership; Trackman iO runs only on Trackman Performance Studio ($700/yr after year one).

Launch monitor manufacturers also sell their own tiers: SkyTrak Basic is free and paid plans run $99.99-$599.99/yr; Uneekor $199-$599/yr; Rapsodo Premium $199.99/yr. We list the current tiers on each product page and confirm them in your quote.

Do I need a PC, and what kind?

SkyTrak and Rapsodo run on an iPad or a PC. Uneekor, Foresight (for FSX Play) and Trackman iO require a Windows PC. GSPro requires Windows with a dedicated graphics card; a mid-range gaming PC with a current-generation GPU, 16 GB of RAM and an SSD is a sensible floor, and a 4K projector such as the BenQ AK700ST benefits from a stronger GPU. The Garmin Approach R50 needs no computer at all: it outputs HDMI to the projector itself.

We do not list PCs in the catalog; tell us the software you plan to run and we will include a PC option in the quote.

Buying, delivery and installation

How does buying work if there is no cart?

You send a quote request for a package, a launch monitor or a build from the builder, with your ZIP and room size. We reply within 1 business day with an itemized quote including freight, the current MAP price for branded items and Apex credit applied. You approve by email and we send an invoice with payment options; delivery is scheduled once payment clears. Nothing is charged through the website.

How is everything delivered?

Launch monitors and projectors ship by parcel carrier with signature. Enclosures, mats and cages ship by LTL freight on a pallet; the carrier calls to schedule a curbside delivery, and you will need to move the cartons inside (the enclosure ships in 3-4 cartons, the mat weighs about 45 lb). Lift-gate delivery is included for residential addresses. We ship to the contiguous United States; Alaska, Hawaii and Canada are quoted case by case.

Can I install it myself, or should I add professional installation?

Most customers assemble the Apex Enclosure 10x10 themselves in 2-3 hours with two people using the illustrated guide, then mount the projector and calibrate the launch monitor with the manufacturer's app. If you would rather not, Professional Install & Calibration ($2,099 per package) sends a two-person crew to build the enclosure, mount and align the projector, place and calibrate the launch monitor and walk you through the software. We recommend it for the Pro 12x10 enclosure and the Trackman iO Room.

What warranty do I get?

Branded launch monitors and projectors carry their manufacturer's warranty (typically 1 year; BenQ honors its warranty only on units bought from authorized US resellers, which is how we sell them). Apex-brand enclosures, screens, mats and cages carry a 1-year warranty against defects in materials and workmanship; impact screens are wear items and are warranted for defects, not for marks or wear from use. The optional Extended Warranty adds 3 years on the launch monitor and projector plus one screen replacement.

What is your returns policy?

To be finalized before launch. Our working policy: unopened launch monitors and projectors may be returned within 30 days of delivery for a refund less return shipping; opened units are subject to the manufacturer's return terms and a restocking fee. Apex enclosures, screens and mats may be returned within 30 days if unused and in original packaging, with return freight at the customer's expense. Custom-cut items and installation services are non-refundable once scheduled. The final policy will be published in the Terms of Sale.

Pricing

Why is the launch monitor the same price on every site?

SkyTrak, Garmin, Foresight, Full Swing, Rapsodo, FlightScope, Uneekor, BenQ and Optoma set a minimum advertised price (MAP) or a unilateral pricing policy for authorized dealers. Advertising below it costs a dealer its authorization. That is why a SkyTrak ST MAX is $1,695 everywhere in 2026. We sell at MAP, and we compete on what we can control: the Apex-brand enclosure, screen and mat, the Apex store credit, and the room check.

How does Apex store credit work?

Every launch monitor and projector sold on its own includes a store credit ($90 to $900 depending on the unit) that applies to Apex-brand enclosures, screens, mats and cages on the same quote. It is not cash, does not apply to other brands or services, cannot exceed the value of the Apex items on the quote, and is not combined with package pricing (packages already have the discount applied). Unused credit is kept on file for 12 months for a later Apex purchase.

What do the struck-through "compare at" prices mean?

They are either the sum of comparable branded components bought separately (launch monitor at MAP plus a branded enclosure, screen, mat and projector) or a leading retailer's equivalent package price in October 2026. Each product page states exactly what was compared. They are not our former prices.

Do you charge sales tax, and do you offer financing?

Sales tax is collected where we are required to by state law and is shown on the quote. We do not offer financing through the website; if you need it, mention it on your quote request and we will tell you the current options.
